Los Angeles. I had a
meeting at the Four Seasons that Rick and Joe set up. Two wannabe show
runners, who took the Long Island railroad express to West Hollywood.
They pick at some kind of citrus salad and gush about a Letterman shot
I did last spring. They pile drive this ridiculous pitch about a male
flight attendant who gets caught up in hilarious hijinks on and off
the ground. To pass the time productively I mentally count my chews
while I fake a look of rapt attention. They spit my resume at the
waitress (fucking hot) and try to “set me up”. Just what I need, One
of the guys name is Koppy. A boisterous, hefty Irishman who sweats
through his shirt like Tony Curtis in The Defiant Ones. The other is
Daniel who keeps his shades on and talks out of the side of his mouth.
My guess is he does the typing. They let the check sit there.
Assholes. The waitress comes back... They tell her to check me out at
the Improv. She nods. Yeah, why do anal with a member of Kiss when you
can check out my “nephew hunk”? Hugs and kisses I split and hit the
Improv. Nobody I want to see.
